Remove setup problems before check-in begins
Technology issues can consume time and distract from the exam. Use this checklist early, then confirm the same setup again shortly before your scheduled session.
Test the computer
Install only the software required by the provider and apply updates well before the exam. Confirm that the browser, operating system, camera, microphone, speakers, and screen work together, then close unrelated applications and notifications.
Stabilize the connection
Use the most reliable internet connection available and position the computer near power. Check for battery limits, restart requirements, network restrictions, and provider-specific system tests. Keep the official support route available without opening prohibited devices during the exam.
Prepare the room
Choose a quiet, well-lit space with a clear desk and a camera angle that matches the instructions. Remove phones, notes, extra monitors, watches, and other unapproved items, while keeping required identification within reach for check-in.
Clear answers before the next step
What should I do if the system test fails?
Read the provider’s troubleshooting steps, record the exact error, and contact its official support channel before the exam. Do not wait until check-in to report a known problem.
